What do you stand for?

I am fortunate to have Matt Church from Thought Leaders Global be my mentor for most of this year for the purpose of preparing me and six other thought leaders to showcase our speaking prowess to the movers and shakers of the Australian speaking industry. http://www.thoughtleadersshowcase.com

Part of this was determining my personal brand and totally divoced from any business brand. So after much reflection, denial and finally acceptance, I realised the answer had been staring me in the face all along – just as your personal brand will be staring you in the face.

What do you stand for?

What part of you is so ingrained in your identity, character and personality that you can’t see it for looking? Look at your little finger and notice 3 things you have never noticed before. That little finger has been in front of you all your life and yet you are only just noticing these three things. What else are you not noticing, that if you were to notice would contribute to you expanding your horizons and therefore results?

What do you stand for?

So what! My parents referred to me as being Bernadette Boldface when I was a kid. Sure… I was then and still am now. Some people love me for that fact, others can’t stand me for that fact. Period. If I was the opposite of bold, which is shy, then those statistics would be reversed. So, why change? Why not instead, take that quality and make it mean something different. Bold doesn’t just mean some kid who answers back, or a font on page, it also means someone who can challenge the status quo, their own thinking and other people’s thinking in a relevant and elegant way. And when I consider that my vehicle for running my practice is as a coach, trainer and speaker then I am totally congruent with my personal brand.

What do you stand for?

What is the less than desirable meaning that you have placed on a part of your identity, that by reframing that part, will shift your identity, focus and therefore results?

What do you stand for? What do you really stand for?

I’m happy to help – it’s what I do.
